Spreading education and culture in rural areas
Eminent Spirituo-Cultural Luminary Sri Rao Vijay Prakash Singhji often visits MDPS on special occasions. Maharishi Dayanand Public School set-up by M.D.P.S. Educational Society, with Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma as Principal, is devoted to spread education among children from weaker sections of the society in the rural area of Daria, which is situated in the Union Territory of Chandigarh, India.
Recently, the Republic Day was celebrated in this school with whole-hearted dedication, when Sri Rao, who hoisted the flag, was present with Smt. Dr. Indra Rani Rao, M.S.Rao, Benu Rao, Bhavya P.S.Rao and N.P.S.Rao. They distributed sweets and stationary items among the children, who presented patriotic songs with zeal and zest.Sri Rao V.P.S. inspired the children to use Bharatiya expressions like Suprabhatam, Ganatantra Divas ki Shubhkamanayen, Janma Din Mangalmaya Ho, etc.Smt. Rao explained the significance of the Republic Day with anecdotes.
Creative and film artist Manmohan Bhatnagar conveyed the message of communal harmony through a self-composed ghazal.
Some time back, in the annual function of this school, Mayor Poonam Sharma of Chandigarh came as chief guest, while Sri Rao inaugurated the function and Secretary of D.A.V. College Management Committee New Delhi Shri Ravinder Talwar presided over it.
People of this rural area have great appreciation for the dedicated efforts being put in for their uplift.
